The building will have a large lobby, a fitness center, and a bike storage area with room for 58 bikes. There will also be a second-floor green roof, as well as a fifth floor amenity room, and an outdoor roof deck. Many apartments will have private balconies.
32 spaces will be available on the one-level at-grade floor of the building. The rear of the building would have access via 10th Avenue NE. Bicycle storage would be available in designated areas and at the parking spaces’ heads.
DJR Architecture designed the new building. It will be covered in brick, metal panels, wood-look siding and fiber cement lap siding. Brick detailing will be used on the facade’s masonry elements to reflect the neighborhood’s character. A facade of the building will include four-story masonry elements at levels two through five. This will be in keeping with the historic character of St. Anthony West Neighborhood.
The Minneapolis Planning Commission approved plans for 921 Marshall Street NE last October. Construction is expected to start in the spring.
